About Me
I believe in approaching each individual in care with authenticity, dignity, and compassion. I believe that you are the expert of your life and empowering you to navigate your wellness is the priority to discovering your best self.
I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California and Texas. I have extensive experience as a mental health therapist, behavioral health therapist, and leadership in various settings. My work with diverse populations has equipped me to customize therapeutic approaches to address depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, personality disorders, and psychosis. I have developed strong skills in crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, active listening, and emotional regulation.
My therapeutic approach combines evidence-based practices with a focus on the therapeutic relationship. I prioritize understanding your needs from the therapeutic process, style of learning, goal-setting, and the utilization of different modalities such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma informed care, strengths-based, problem-solving, and DBT techniques.
I specialize in addressing a range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, personality disorders, and psychosis. My extensive experience as a mental health and behavioral health therapist allows me to recognize the unique challenges each client faces therefore my approach is providing a safe space for them to process their experiences at their own pace.
In cases of anxiety and mood disorders, I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques to help clients identify negative thought patterns and develop effective coping strategies. My training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) equips me to assist clients in regulating their emotions and improving interpersonal relationships. With motivational interviewing and strengths-based approaches, I empower clients to set and achieve personal goals, reinforcing their resilience and promoting self-efficacy. This tailored, empathetic approach ensures that each client receives individualized support that meets their specific needs, fostering healing and personal growth.
I firmly believe that empathy and grace is at the core of the healing process. It creates a safe and trusting environment where clients can openly share their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. By genuinely understanding and validating experiences, clients feel seen and heard, which fosters a sense of belonging and encourages them to explore themselves more deeply.
I actively pursue professional development opportunities, such as attending consultation and training sessions focused on the latest evidence-based practices in mental health therapy. I am also a doctoral candidate to receive a Doctorate in Social Work. I am here to support you in putting yourself first. If this is your first time in therapy or you’ve been here before, you are never the same person you were yesterday. Together we can discover your best self.
