About Me
As a counselor, my work is grounded in empowerment and respect for each individual’s self-determination. I believe that every person has the ability to grow, heal, and make meaningful choices. I value the unique strengths they bring into the counseling space and believe in their capacity for self-actualization.
I hold a master’s degree in Counseling and have over ten years of experience in the field of education. Through this work, I have supported adolescents as they navigate emotional concerns, life transitions, and everyday challenges. My graduate training also allowed me to work with special populations, including older adults and individuals with gender-diverse identities. These experiences strengthened my multicultural competence and my commitment to creating a safe, affirming, and inclusive environment for all clients.
My approach to counseling is humanistic and evidence-based. I balance empathic listening with proven counseling techniques, acknowledging the complexity of human emotions while helping clients develop practical ways to cope and move forward. I work collaboratively with individuals to understand difficult emotions and experiences and to gently transform these into opportunities for growth and meaning.
I specialize in concerns related to coping and adjustment, grief and loss, life transitions, and issues affecting adolescents, older adults, and LGBTQIA+ individuals. My goal is to help clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to make informed choices that align with their values and personal goals.
I view my clients as the captains of their own ship. My role is to help them identify and secure the anchors they carry within themselves – their strengths, values, and inner resources – so their ship stays steady as they navigate life’s challenges. I continuously engage in seminars and professional development to stay updated on current and effective counseling practices.
If you’re looking for a supportive space to reflect, process your thoughts, or simply talk things through, I’m here to listen. I am passionate about helping individuals reconnect with their inner strength and resilience, and it would be an honor to support you on your journey toward wellness.
